Area: 190m2, 4 bedroom House
Mr & Mrs Weller were keen to build a 190m2 four bed detached eco, contemporary property in Warwickshire. The property was built on a 0.375 acre green field site also with a self contained studio Annex. The Wellers had proposals from other SIP companies but the Sips Eco Panels sales team took the time to show them another self build property (and introduced them to the owners). The design office were patient and supportive to changes in the design, even to a small variation during the construction.
The local planning requirements were relatively onerous as the property is an “in fill” property. The design achieved maximum use of the available space whilst complementing the local vernacular and achieving a balance between contemporary and traditional living. Sustainability & energy efficiency has been achieved through the installation of ASHP, MVHR, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting and SIPs.
“Our idea was to build a stylish, comfortable and energy efficient home which had to be very economic to run; this is why we chose Sips Eco Panels.
This self build project makes for a really interesting story. Moving back to an area where we had emotional links, going through the stress of living with the parents in law, coping with a change in employment, living in a touring caravan with 2 dogs, managing the inevitable cashflow issues and ending up with a superb home in a fabulous village! We are now so entrenched in the village community that we are both on several committees, sing in the village choir and I was elected as Parish Councillor to boot.
All in all we are very pleased with the quality of product and services Sips Eco Panels offer and the entire build process has both matched and exceeded our expectations.”Download the PDF Request a Free Consultation
