Sea views towards Holy Isle are visible through black framed windows which allows light to flood into the open-plan living spaces.

This high-performance home was built using SipsEco structural insulated panels with an air source heat pump and underfloor heating that give all year-round comfort.

A zinc roof, composite cedral cladding and traditional dry-stone walling provide a stunning exterior and full protection against the elements.

Garden landscaping is underway and it will be interesting to see how the outdoor space develops over the coming few years.

It was a pleasure working with the brilliant team over at QBuild on this Sips build.

Shortlist 2. Bespoke SIPs home – Stone Valley in the Cotswolds

A bespoke luxury 5-bedroom SIPs home in the Cotswolds.  With the exclusion of the basement that was constructed in ICF, Sips Eco provided the 2-storey build from DPC upwards using 169mm Sips wall panels, 194mm Sips roof panels and Sips metal web joists.

This energy efficient home is heated by a ground source heat pump and is equipped with an MVHR system.

This project is an exceptional example of achieving an extremely high standard of thermal efficiency to Passivhaus standards.

The fantastic full height glazing area at the front entrance required the design of a steel portal frame in order to support this area.  Extra focus was placed here to mitigate the cold bridge and retain thermal efficiency by the designer and installers on site.

The house if finished externally with a mix of Cotswold Cream and Cotswold Gold stone to clad the building.

We’re looking forward to the award winners being announced later this year, wish us luck.

And, of course, huge congratulations to everyone involved in all the homes, projects and products that have been shortlisted across the various award categories!
