Top Five Uses of SIP Panels

Lovely SIPs garden Room
Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) have a number of uses in the construction industry. From roofing to flooring, SIP panels are not only cost effective, but they’re naturally greener and energy efficient. Not only that, but SIP houses can be erected in a matter of days.

But what exactly are the top five uses of Structural Insulated Panels? We explore them here.

1. SIP Roof Panels

SIP roofs are one of the top uses for panels of this kind. The unique way SIPs work means they’re perfect for roof constructions of any kind. SIP panels can be used as the roof structure itself, or to clad and insulate an existing structure making them incredibly versatile.

Our SIPs aren’t just limited to new builds or extensions; as long as we have accurate dimensions, we can provide replacement roods to add extra room to existing properties. SIP roofs can also be used for replacements to existing roofs.

2. New Build Homes

Another top use for SIP panels is with new build projects and there’s many reasons for this. Firstly, they’re ideal for all new builds – whether residential, commercial, or industrial – meaning they can be used in almost all projects.

And because our kits arrive pre-cut and pre-insulated, a typical house kit can be erected in 5-7 days. Couple this with the fact they’re not dependant on good site conditions, SIPs can help make significant savings on your new build projects.

3. SIP Extensions

SIP extensions are growing in popularity as SIPs can cater for extensions of just about any kind. When working on an extension project, space can sometimes limit the work you’re able to do. As our SIPs are delivered to you pre-cut (and in manageable sized panels) they can be much easier to construct should you have limited access.

4. SIP Flooring

SIP flooring is ideal for anyone looking for a solid, quiet, and warm floor for a home or property. Using SIPs in flooring projects has become one of the top uses for panels of this kind because they are an all-in-one – they act as the structural framing, insulation, and air barrier. And, just like in all the other applications, SIP flooring is easy and quick to lay.

5. In-fill / Cladding

One use for SIPs you may not have considered before, is in-fill and cladding. While they are inherently structural, you can use SIP panels for their insulation and air-tightness properties. Our panels are ideal for internal and external walls and are easy to use. Insulating a home effectively can make a huge difference, and SIPs are a great way to do this.

These aren’t the only ways you can use SIP panels in your next project. They can be used in modular buildings and even commercial applications.
