The Story of the Project

Our client’s project was the demolition of an existing extension and the erection of a new SIPs extension.  The complication was that the build had to include substantial flood protection works due to its location close to a river.

Sips Eco Panels were contracted to provide Building Regulation drawings and supply and fit upgraded 194mm Sips Eco Panels for the walls and roof.  By rendering the external skin off of battens fixed to the 194mm SIP wall panels, our client achieved a u-value of 0.14 W/m2K to his extension walls.

The Design

The proposed design was for a complex, multi-levelled Sitting Room, Conservatory, Kitchen and extended Porch and Utility.

In addition, we had to allow for the new flood wall which was being constructed at the same time and the various floor levels required, making this one of our most challenging builds.

The Experience

Our client was delighted with his experience of both the Sips Eco Panels design office team and the frame supply and erection, scoring both top marks.
